UPWARD SPORTS Mission Statement:

To introduce children to Jesus Christ by creating opportunities to serve through sports.

Cypress Baptist Church offers both a basketball league with games beginning in January and a soccer league with games beginning in September. Each league lasts for eight games, one per week.  UPWARD SPORTS is for kids grades K-6.  You do not have to be a member of our church to participate in the program.

Cypress Youth sponsored a golf scramble for the first time in 2009 to raise money for the Youth Summer Camp trip to Daytona Beach, FL.  The scramble was held at Palmetto Country Club, and it was a huge success.  Plans are underway to make it an annual event.

Over 100 golfers participated, including Kyle Sawyer, winner of the Long Drive Associations senior division of the 2009 Texas Shootout.  Mr. Sawyer hit a drive on one of the par fives for every group willing to donate $20 to the Cypress Youth.  Mr. Sawyer is routinely capable of hitting 400+ yard drives.
