Jay Hinton
             Communications Director

Jay Hinton serves as the Communications Director at Cypress. He was born across the river in Shreveport. He attended Life Tabernacle, where at the age of 8, in a children's revival conducted by Bob & Wanda Moon, he trusted his life to Jesus as Savior and Lord.

During his freshman year at Trinity Heights Christian Academy, Jay responded to God's call to vocational ministry. Jay attended BPCC, LSUS and currently attends Louisiana Baptist University where he is working on a Masters of Christian Counseling. Jay served as Technical Director at Summer Grove Baptist Church prior to coming to Cypress in November of 2006.

Jay enjoys volunteering every Friday at the school Jordan Ann, his daughter, attends.  He helps the kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade teachers with their web sites and other classroom activities.  He takes pictures for the school yearbook and assists with other technical and media needs.

If Jay wasn't on staff at Cypress Baptist Church, he says he would be a "professional pirate, living the life of a swashbuckling corsair, taking to the expanse of the high seas to pursue fortune, fame and hair-raising adventure."
