Courtney Bouillon serves as the Family Minister. She was born in Alexandria, Louisiana. She moved to Benton with her mother and sister in 1990. She attended and graduated from Benton Jr/Sr High School. She started coming to Cypress Youth Group with her sister in 1991. She became very active in the youth group at Cypress and accepted Christ at a See You At The Pole Retreat in 1991, at the age of 12.
She started dating Brian Bouillon in 11th grade and married him after college. Courtney and Brian were married at Cypress April 8, 2000. Because they both grew up at Cypress, there was no question what church they would call their home. They have two daughters, Lainey and Lexy. The girls have shown her how incredible God is through their birth and life. She feels like her greatest honor is being Brian’s wife and Lainey's and Lexy’s mother.
Courtney received a Bachelor of Arts Degree/Interior Design from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La. After working for a few years in her profession, she felt God
calling her to start serving at church. She did not know where she was being called to serve, so she started trying different areas of ministry. In 2007 she began working on staff at Cypress in Youth Ministry and continued there until 2010 when she felt God leading her to minister to families. She has been so excited to see God start a new ministry within Cypress Baptist Church. In this ministry her mission is to bring families closer to God and to each other through Bible studies and activities offered at Cypress. She is also working on a counseling certification from Louisiana Baptist University to prepare her to help families deal with issues that we all face.
As you might expect, she enjoys being with her husband and children. She also loves to be with her mom and step dad, which also attend Cypress. Courtney also enjoys time with her friends and meeting with them for Bible Study each month, and she looks forward to each Ladies Bible study Cypress offers. It gives her a chance to get to know the women at Cypress and to be fed God’s Word.
It is incredible to her that God can use her to possibly save a marriage and family through this ministry and to help families live how God intended it to be. Her goal is to help people remember God’s priority list for their lives should be their relationship with: 1st God, 2nd spouse, and 3rd children, and all else comes after those three.
