Cecil Winn serves as the Minister of Education/Administration here at Cypress. He was born in Natchitoches, Louisiana. He lived in Ajax and attended Jordan Ferry Baptist Church where he accepted Christ at the age of 7.
In 1954, the family moved to Marthaville and then to Shreveport in 1955. His wife, Diane York, grew up in New Orleans where they met and married September 8, 1962 while Cecil was attending New Orleans Baptist Seminary. They have three daughters, Julie Turnbow, Stephanie Hammons and Amy Winters.
Cecil graduated from Fair Park High School in Shreveport, received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from East Texas Baptist College (now University) and a Bachelor of Divinity (now awarded as a Masters in Theology) from the New Orleans Baptist Seminary. He worked for BellSouth for 33 years, retiring as Senior Director, South Mississippi in 1994. He served Central Baptist Church in Bossier City briefly before coming to Cypress in 1996.
